Richard,

I would highly suggest getting into FT-8. Use the WSJT-X software along with GridMapper running at the same time. Frequencies are built-in so nothing to worry about it. Any time of the day there are hundreds of folks on most bands. It works no matter the snack or drink so it can be your choice!
