Funny thing,
A thread was started a bit ago about an antenna on the roof of their house
and lightening strikes. I kinda dismissed it, as living in an HOA, no
chance of having one.
This last storm, Friday night, we experienced a nearby strike. Where to
begin listing the damage.... AC gone, Internet modem burned up, every AC to
DC converter gone, 1 computer toasted, garage door opener gone, sprinkler
system control unit dead, multiple GFCI burned up. That's what we have
found thus far.
Good news, no one was hurt and the house wasn't on fire. The washer,
dryer, dishwasher, stove and refrigerator are okay.
I think the biggest hit was that I was rolling up a nice score in the WPX
contest, and due to no Internet, I can't remote into my station in Ohio!!
