Take a look at Tesla. Their solar is actually shingles. You get solar shingles where you need them and glass shingles elsewhere. They do the entire roof. The entire roof looks the same instead of the panels up there. I have a code that gets you a few bucks if you want to do it.

At that time the panels and hardware will have to come off the roof and re-installed at the owners expense. The vendors never mentioned this nuance to us when we had them by. We did not purchase, but at the time it was based on other issues. If the company is around at that time, it is likely that they will try to sell you upgraded panels. And, so it goes… Does anyone know what the facts are regarding this.
