<div dir="ltr">Hearing none, again...<div><br></div><div>So, with the full expectation that I was going to burn a hole in my circuit board, I set off to remove C24. It wasn't really that bad, but the nano-sized surface mount capacitor looks like a spec of dirt on the soldering iron... No way I am putting it back.</div><div><br></div><div>I started the process here: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PES8uGIUP8Y&t=463s">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PES8uGIUP8Y&t=463s</a> </div><div>This guy does a really good job of showing the pinouts and such! </div><div><br></div><div>The uSDX firmware is still maintained, with configurations for SEVERAL uSDX boards. It is available on GitHub: <a href="https://github.com/GW8RDI/uSDXOpen">https://github.com/GW8RDI/uSDXOpen</a> </div><div><br></div><div>The Arduino UNO is used as an in-system programmer (ISP). They currently list for $13 at Micro Center, but I picked up a few for a lot less, back when my daughter was using them in her BSEE classes at UT.</div><div><br></div><div>The Arduino IDE is a freely available, very simple cross-compiler IDE. The ISP program, or 'sketch', is compiled and loaded across the USB to the UNO. The updated uSDX+ firmware follows, being loaded across the USB, across the UNO, and into the uSDX+ flash!</div><div><br></div><div>Pressing 'MENU' at power-up resets the system parameters to the compiled values. I added in my call sign, so I can tell this is my version!</div><div><br></div><div>My most irritating bug is gone! Before, if I changed the band, I could go down to 6m and my system would be stuck there. That has gone away, as the uSDX+ doesn't even support 6 meters! ;-)</div><div><br></div><div>On to the interesting world of HF! At long last, I can check to see if my 40m PIXIE 'soldering exercise' is transmitting!!!</div><div><br></div><div>I am eager to hear from anyone with any of the uSDX varieties!
