<div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">BVARC LIFE MEMBER</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">I first came to BVARC in the 80s before I became a ham, the meetings were upstairs</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">in an old firestation on hwy 6 which probably no longer exists.. The members encouraged</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">me and I took my first test (with code back then) at the Strake high school with Harold ND5F (SK)</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">and Ray Dillard (WA5F) and those guys.. wow some great memories... though the years ..</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">I have tried so many aspects of ham radio from Fast scan and slow scan TV to crossband,</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">1.2 ghz handie talkies, mobile rigs, HF rigs (lots of HF rigs) ...Yaesu, Kenwood, Icom. Flex radio.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">A bazillion antennas over the years,</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Packet radio (we used to have a local packet chatroom using 2 meter frequencies simplex)</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Bvarc used to put on Saturday FOX hunts, Frostys sidewalk sales in Alief and later on</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Murphy road, We used APRS, RTTY, PSK31, and now FT8 is a kick!! IRLP nodes, </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">The ham radio balloons we got seriously into for several years.. Field days, Museum ships,</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">and more I can not even think of.. Helping folks and loving the folks that help me...</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">IN fact, to boil it down, the fellowship, friends, the amazing folks that have been (SKs) or are </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">currently associated with BVARC are why i love the club... </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Eddie (NU5K)</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div><br></div>
