And wouldn't you know it,  I have some power pole somewhere shrinking when
it gets dry and causes something to get loose and arc.  I can hear it and
see it when it happens but I haven't found it yet,

Jeff Hoke called this morning but the noise had gone away because of the wet
weather.  The noise, when it's there, pretty much wipes out 20, 17, 15, 12
and 10 but we'll find it sooner or later.

 

I did, finally, work Alaska  (Fairbanks KL7LF )the other day on 20M. That
was DX to me on my 15' high horizontal loop.

Conditions on 15 and 12 meters have been tremendous lately! I've had many EU
runs on 15 and 17 with the increased solar activity. I've noticed that two
years ago I was running EU on 20, last year on 17, this year on 15.
Hopefully, next year it will be 12 meters. I have worked about 40 new
countries on 12 meters in the last week or so.

 

Have fun with the improved conditions!
